Technical discipline

All our projects involve a tender-, engineering- and execution stage. In the technical discipline, we aim to introduce you to these stages, allowing you to build up a good impression of the Boskalis organization over the 18-month program. Depending on your background and personal preference, you will start your Boskalis Traineeship on a project in the Dredging or Offshore Energy division. If you like to, you can do an assignment in both divisions.

In the technical discipline, you will start in the role of Trainee Superintendent, Trainee (Project) Engineer or Trainee Fleet Management.

Your workplace depends on your role and the project you are working on.

  • As Trainee Superintendent, you will spend most of your time at a project location overseas if you are working on a dredging project. This means that you will work on location for six weeks at a stretch after which you will have four weeks of leave. If you are working on an offshore energy project you will spend a large part of your Traineeship working out of our head office in Papendrecht during the tender phase or project preparation. You will spend a longer consecutive period abroad during project execution.
  • As Trainee (Project) Engineer, you will spend a large part of your Traineeship working out of our head office in Papendrecht during the tender phase or project preparation. You will spend a longer consecutive period abroad during project execution.
  • As Trainee Fleet Management you will spend a part of your Traineeship working out of our head office in Papendrecht but also a part on the other side of the world. Therefore you should be prepared to work on location for six weeks at a stretch after which you will have four weeks of leave.

Finance discipline

In the finance discipline, you will start in the role of Trainee Project Controller. In this role, you will be working closely with the Project Manager responsible for a dredging or offshore energy project (or both). This means that you:

  • Will be responsible for project administration and financial reporting.
  • Will be involved in tax and contractual matters and insurance.
  • Interpret the story behind the figures and that your insights and analyses ensure that the right decisions are taken.

Your workplace depends on the project you are working on.

  • As Trainee Project Controller for dredging projects, you will work on location for six weeks at a stretch after which you will have four weeks of leave.
  • As Trainee Project Controller for offshore energy projects, you will be located at our head office in Papendrecht.

It’s possible to do an assignment in both the Dredging and Offshore Energy division.

Application

Between December 18th and March 8th, you have the possibility to apply for the Boskalis Traineeship 2020. Please send your CV and personal motivation in which you indicate the following: What makes you apply for Boskalis? What makes you apply for the Boskalis Traineeship instead of a regular job? As of Monday, March 9th you will be informed if you made it through the next phase.

Assessment 1 - intelligent ability

Step two is an online intelligent ability test. Based on the test you will hear if we want to invite you for the next step. 

Assessment 2 - personality questionnaire

Step three is an online personality questionnaire to get to know what drives you.

Boskalis Selection Event

May 15th the Boskalis Selection Event takes place.

Welcome to Boskalis

No later than May 25th you will hear whether you have been admitted to the Boskalis Traineeship. The program starts in September 2020.
