Internships for various technical subjects/studies
Boskalis offers various internship options for students studying mechanical engineering, civil engineering, naval architecture or maritime engineering. You can do your internship in the Netherlands or abroad.
Internships in the Netherlands
Boskalis Nederland has plenty of internships available in implementation and work preparation. For various project sites we are looking for civil engineering students at intermediate or higher vocational education level in the disciplines roads, concrete, construction and hydraulic engineering. Think for example of projects like the motorway expansion between Schiphol airport, Amsterdam and Almere (SAAone) or the widening of the Wilhelmina Channel in Tilburg. The great thing about these internships is that you can be involved in multidisciplinary projects, many of them based on modern contract types. An internship with Boskalis Nederland is the perfect opportunity to familiarize yourself with the various aspects of your future profession.
It goes without saying that an international organization such as Boskalis also offers internships in other countries, with a diverse range of internship options open to students studying mechanical engineering, civil engineering, naval architecture or maritime engineering. Depending on what you enjoy, what you are good at and what works for our company, during your internship you will get to know our international office or project organization. Or both! You can get to work in implementation on one of our projects, although departments such as Research & Development or our in-house engineering consultancy Hydronamic are also an option.
Our foreign internships are very popular. Unfortunately we are unable to offer everyone an internship abroad. A willingness to consider a position in the Netherlands will improve your chances of getting an internship with our company.
Internships for maritime personnel
With a versatile fleet consisting of 1,000 ships and equipment, it comes as no surprise that Boskalis also offers a great many internships for students in the third or fourth year of their maritime officer’s (Marof) course. It is hard to say exactly what your internship will look like, as this will depend strongly on what vessel you are assigned to. Most interns start on one of the vessels in our dredging fleet, for example trailing suction hopper dredger Queen of the Netherlands, but our offshore vessels such as fallpipe vessel Rockpiper or multipurpose vessels Ndeavour or Ndurance are also a possibility.
Not a technical student?
Occasionally we have room for students who are not studying a technical subject. In that case your internship will take place in a corporate support or central business support department, such as IT, HR or Legal.
