How you can make your mark

Your responsibilities as SHE-Q Engineer

  • Actively supporting the organization on SHEQ related matters and facilitating SHEQ training/familiarization
  • Achieving results by understanding the added value of our SHEQ role for the business: providing SHEQ knowledge, documentation and deliverables like Risk Management Support (contributing to Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, revision of Assessments and Analyses).
  • Lead by example: be a professional SHEQ representative also for clients and stakeholders by providing feedback, reports and advice to management to increase SHEQ knowledge and awareness by initiating, organizing and/or facilitating training, assessments, client audits, internal audits and sub-contractor audits.
  • Analyzing and assessing processes for the benefit of complying to SHEQ policies and programs. Analyzing, assessing, and continuously improving corrective measures. Keep relevant colleagues engaged in improvement processes.
  • Providing input for the improvement of SHEQ policies and programs. Translate and help implementing SHEQ programs and policies into business processes.
  • Coaching, facilitating the process and providing training on-the-job and directing of reports.
  • Being an ambassador, driven by intrinsic values, for the SHEQ programs.
  • Actively contributing to incident recording and investigation.
  • Preparing of project SHEQ system performance data.
  • Performing and following-up of audits and inspections.

Your qualities
You can make your mark as SHE-Q Engineer if you have:

  • 5 years of experience within the Health, Safety and Environment profession
  • High School or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Strong skills communicating safety practices and convincing stakeholders of their importance.
  • No trouble with making tough decisions under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of facilitating continuous improvement processes
  • Self-starter with experience in working in a global environment and dealing with cultural differences.

  • Your team: You will be part of the US Offshore Renewables team which is rapidly growing. You will also be part of the SHE-Q team of Offshore Energy’s Heavy Lift department in Papendrecht (The Netherlands). Your direct reporting line will be in the project organization, based in Providence USA.
  • Where you will work: The US Offshore Renewables office is in Providence, Rhode Island. You will be required to travel to on an ad-hoc basis The Netherlands office and for training purposes.
  • Fulltime: The position is a fulltime job (40 hours a week). Hybrid work schedule considered.

The pay range for this position is $62,500 - $101,875. This pay range represents the minimum and maximum for this position. The actual wage offered will vary depending on candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.

Make your mark as a SHE-Q Engineer in the Heavy Lift Business Unit of Boskalis Offshore Energy for the projects Revolution and Sunrise Wind. As SHEQ Engineer you must understand and be able to communicate our safety and health (NINA) and quality (WoW) programs. You will communicate and cooperate properly with clients and stakeholders. Further, you ensure proper execution and maintenance of SHEQ policies, programs and management systems in order to comply with company and industry standards.
