How you can make your mark

Make your mark as a Subsea Tools Superintendent. As a Subsea Tools Superintendent you will work at our base in the Waalhaven (Rotterdam) to make the necessary preparations on the subsea cable trenching equipment for our cable trenching projects. During the execution phase of projects you, as the Subsea Tools Superintendent, will be the point of contact for the offshore crew and responsible for support, ad hoc solutions, delivery of spare parts, asset management and support the continuous improvement of the subsea trenching machines. Depending on your ambitions periods of working abroad with the trenching team offshore is possible.  

Your responsibilities as a Subsea Tools Superintendent:

  • You are responsible for the maintenance of the subsea cable trenchers;
  • You will be in daily contact with the crew and project team to support them to make the necessary preparations and maintenance on the trencher, provide them with support and ad-hoc solutions
  • You make sure to continuously look for improvements on the trenchers to guarantee their reliability and performance;
  • You are responsible to identify project specific requirements and translate it into detailed planning and working methods so that the project can be realized efficiently and effectively.
  • You are the main point of contact when it comes to ordering and supply of spare parts
  • Responsible to maintain clear and sufficient communication, and provide daily, weekly, and monthly report (operational and financial) during the full equipment mobilisation;
  • You are responsible for the correct reporting on maintenance, modifications and repairs and ensuring technical files are updated regularly;
  • Consulting with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the right working methods, employees and equipment are available when needed, and being responsible to ensure effective communication between team members;

You can make your mark as a Subsea Tools Superintendent if you have:

  • A Technical degree (Maritime, Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or similar);
  • Experience with designing, construction or maintenance of machines (for example  agricultural or industrial machines);
  • Strong capabilities in working autonomously (“see your own work"), pro-actively and leadership;
  • 5 years hands on experience with mechanics, hydraulics, maritime, electronics etc.
  • Previous offshore experience would be an advantage.

  • Your team: You will be part of the Subsea Cables team of Boskalis Offshore Energy which exists of approximately 170 professionals. You report to the Manager Trenching and Subsea Tools;
  • Where you will work: You will work in our base in the Waalhaven, Rotterdam.
  • Full/part-time job: The position of Subsea Tools Coordinator is a fulltime job (40 hours a week).
