As SHEQ engineer it is your role to promote awareness and understanding of SHEQ policies, NINA values & rules and Quality requirements within our projects and our offices. It is our task to further improve our safety culture and quality management and reach our goal of an incident-free working environment.

Heavy Marine Transport
The Business Unit Heavy Marine Transport creates reliable and innovative logistical solutions and is a leading provider in the Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas, and Port & Marine markets. We manage onshore marshalling facilities for Offshore Wind and operate a versatile fleet of semi-submersible vessels engaged in activities ranging from lifting operations, roll on / roll off, skid-on & float-over, to float on / float off operations. As a SHEQ Engineer, you will become part of an enthusiastic and energetic team of professionals realizing amazing and complex projects.

Your responsibilities as SHEQ engineer are:

  • Preparation of all Project SHEQ documentation;
  • To engage with clients and subcontractors on SHEQ related matters;
  • To provide SHEQ input to other disciplines;
  • To facilitate workshops and HIRAs;
  • To provide feedback and support to the Business Unit in NINA and WoW implementation;
  • Supporting with tenders and incident investigations;
  • Auditing and audit follow-up;
  • Provide onsite SHEQ support during Project execution.

You can make your mark as SHEQ engineer if you have:

  • Have a Higher Professional Education (Bachelor) or University (Master) Level;
  • Certifications in Quality & Safety Management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, NEBOSH, or equivalent) are highly desirable;
  • Have at least 2 years working experience in an international (project) organization in a relevant field;
  • Can demonstrate affinity with maritime and offshore sectors;
  • Understand international standards such as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001;
  • You' re willing to travel and work abroad for limited periods of time.

The following competencies are also important for the role of function:  

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging with offshore teams, project managers, and senior leadership to promote quality and safety;
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to assess complex safety situations and develop actionable solutions;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and high-risk offshore environment.

Extra information

  • Your team: You will be part of the SHEQ team of the business unit Heavy Marine Transport. The team exist of six SHEQ engineers and you will be reporting to the SHEQ Manager of the business unit. In this role you connect with a variety of multidisciplinairy teams. 
  • Where you will work: You will be based in the head office in Papendrecht. For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office. 
  • Full/part-time job: The position of SHEQ engineer is a fulltime job (40 hours a week).
