Make your mark as technical superintendent docking and ship repairs at our Abu Dhabi branch office for Boskalis Offshore Energy. In this role, you are responsible to prepare and execute dockings and ship repairs, coordinate “day-to-day” maintenance and repair activities of the assigned vessel, including resolving technical issues during ship repairs projects.
It is essential for technical superintendent to have the ability to work in a planned and independent way. You must have an eye for detail, but you should certainly never lose sight of the bigger picture and not to be afraid to ask questions.
Your responsibilities as a technical superintendent docking and ship repairs are:
- Overseeing the planning and execution of docking and ship repair projects, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Managing budgets, guaranteeing precise cost allocation for docking and repair activities.
- Handling statutory surveys, maintaining vessel and equipment compliance with Class standards.
- Assuming technical responsibility for vessel and equipment performance, along with accurate reporting on maintenance, docking, and repairs.
- Coordinating a multidisciplinary team, implementing best practices, and facilitating effective communication in Fleet management.
Your qualities
You can make your mark as technical superintendent docking and ship repairs if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, naval architecture or maritime engineering.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant nautical experience in a maritime environment. Prior experience in dockings and ship repairs.
- Fully conversant with the legislative and regulatory requirements for marine assets.
- Good command of English, written and spoken.
- Team player, problem solver, good communication skills and taking initiative.
