- Offshore Energy
Are you an engineering student, in for a practical internship in a result-driven work environment? An internship in an international environment like Boskalis, that allows you to explore offshore energy engineering activities? Activities that relate to cable laying or burial, a field in which we are Europe’s market leader? Then you might be a good fit for Boskalis Subsea Cables (BSC)!
Boskalis Subsea Cables (previously VBMS) specializes in subsea power cable installation, Balance of Plant maintenance for the renewable market, and installation of interconnectors. Our clients expect the best – so that is what we deliver, every time. As a total solutions provider, we have developed a reputation for having fewer interfaces. This allows us to remain focused on our client's needs. As a result, our highly skilled team delivers quality output that enhances effectiveness and reduces risks.
In this internship you will become part of the Production Engineering department, which is responsible for maintaining, developing and using the production models within BSC. These models are used to estimate the productions (speed of operations) on future projects. Your main responsibility lies in turning collected data from executed projects into new insights for our company. The assignment focuses on the fuel consumption of our cable installation and burial vessels. It is up to you to collect and structure the raw fuel data. This data will be coupled to an activity of the vessel, for example cable laying, or sailing. Additionally, you work on automation of data analysis for quick follow-up on executed projects. After analyzing, you present the results and conclusions to the production engineer. Your work will contribute to continuous improvement of our production estimates, allowing BSC to be competitive.
