In 2023, Boskalis commissioned the construction of a large, ultra- modern, trailing suction hopper dredger. This dredging vessel is being prepared for the use of green methanol as an alternative fuel. In addition, Boskalis is currently involved in a number of large-scale research programs involving alternative fuels for shipping.
