How you can make your mark

Are you ready to kickstart your career by creating innovative infrastructure and protecting coastal areas through climate adaptation? Look no further than the Dredging track of the Boskalis Traineeship!

With our extensive fleet of specialized dredgers, we are at the forefront of creating infrastructure and new land worldwide, driving economic development, and facilitating international trade. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to building new ports, maintaining crucial waterways, and expanding existing terminals.

In addition to fostering economic growth, we are committed to addressing the challenges of climate change. Through our coastal defense and riverbank protection schemes, we help protect countries and people from rising sea levels and increasingly extreme weather events. And so, you can make your mark!

What you can expect

  • As a Trainee you get to work on various ‘one of a kind’ projects which often are the benchmark of the industry. You may be part of the tendering-, engineering- or operational phase of a dredging project.
  • Examples of projects that we are currently working on are land reclamation for Pasay Harbor City (Philippines) and Finger Pier 3 (Singapore). Another current project is preparing the seabed for the construction of the Yunlin offhore wind farm (Taiwan).
  • Typically you would do one assignment at our HQ in Papendrecht and do one assignment on a project location overseas. Overseas means that you will work on location for six weeks at a stretch after which you will have four weeks of leave.

The Program
During the work assignments there is a lot of room to work on your personal development as you will work with top notch coaches and mentors. The program is packed with personal development courses, safety courses and specific track relevant courses. Together with your fellow trainees and coaches you will set personal development goals and work on them during and in between the assignments. You will build a strong international network in a short period of time.

About Boskalis

Working at Boskalis is about creating new horizons and sustainable solutions. In a world where population growth, an increase of global trade, demand for (new) energy and climate change are driving forces, we challenge you to make your mark in finding innovative and relevant solutions for complex infrastructural and marine projects.

Dredging is one of our traditional core activities and Boskalis is famous for projects like the land reclamation for Manila International Airport, Pulau Tekong, Singapore’s first polder or the expansion of the Suez Canal. Creation of new nature areas like the Markerwadden is something we contribute too. In your job you will work for the dredging division. Boskalis have been protecting coastlines, reclaiming land and developing infrastructure for over 100 years. That’s a lot of ingenuity, talent and commitment. When we bring all of this together, we become more than the sum of our parts and can seize opportunities others miss. This is how we collaborate and make the difference together. In our lives, in our work and in the lives of people across the world.
