Business Unit Offshore Heavy Lifting

The Offshore Heavy Lifting business unit of Boskalis is mainly active in the offshore wind market, where we transport and install offshore wind farm foundations. At Boskalis we want to be a partner our clients can rely on. We are an experienced offshore installation contractor with the right expertise, experience and commitment to execute operations safely, on time and within budget. Our team exist of a large diversity in nationalities and disciplines with motivated people who aim to do it every day a bit better.

A few examples of our projects we are currently executing, or have recently finalized are located  at the East Coast of the US, North Sea Projects and in Taiwan. These are just a few examples of the exciting benchmark projects you could be working on as part of the finance team of Offshore Heavy Lifting.

In this Internship you will

During your internship as Junior Project Engineer you will contribute to the tender, preparation and execution phases of our projects. During the tender phase you are responsible for ensuring technical feasibility of the  proposed execution method. In the  preparation phase you have a key role in coordinating works related to engineering preparations on the project to ensure that quality will be delivered.

Typical projects are done by Bokalift 1 and Bokalift 2, our self-propelled crane vessels, including a 3,000 and 4,000 ton revolving crane respectively. Our vessels are used for: installing jackets and monopiles for offshore wind turbines, decommissioning of obsolete oil and gas platforms and transport and installation of new-build oil and gas production platforms.

Your qualities

  • You are doing a hbo or university bachelor program in the Netherlands in Civil engineering, Marine engineering, Offshore Engineering or Mechanical engineering;
  • A good command of written and spoken English.

  • You show commitment and active engagement with projects and teams, while on the other hand you are self-reliant and capable of working independently.
