You can imagine that with a fleet of 900 ships and tools, Boskalis has a lot to offer you as a CAD engineer. The ships and tools must continuously be adapted to the specific requirements of the diverse projects. As a CAD engineer, you can make your mark by drawing innovative designs and constructions including corresponding detailed drawings, and creating order drawings. You play an important role in ensuring these designs meet the project's needs and stand out for their creativity and precision. You keep a close eye on the prescribed standards for CAD drawings, material choices, and connection techniques, ensuring excellence and adherence to quality. For equipment used in the Dredging & Inland Infra division, you can think of hopper dredgers, cutter suction dredgers, backhoes, and grab cranes. In short, as a CAD engineer at Boskalis, you work with large equipment, which makes your work technically complex and challenging, presenting numerous opportunities for you to leave a lasting impact!
Your responsibilities as a CAD engineer (modeler):
- Drawing designs and constructions for our fleet and the equipment used within Boskalis.
- Contributing to the concept and design phase of new equipment.
- Modify vessel related documents / drawings and identify the impact when updating drawings.
- Design / Prepare modifications for Boskalis specific tools / equipment (such as pumps / pipes / draghead).
- Ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with company and/or international standards and procedures.
- Independently executing design tasks within the set frames and requirements and in such way that optimal project results are achieved. Requests and initiates external investigations.
Your qualities
- An MBO diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Shipbuilding.
- 5 to 10 years of work experience in a similar role.
- Solid knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and Inventor/ Vault Pro.
- Knowledge regarding the design of mechanical (and mostly steel) constructions used on dredging and offshore vessels, as well as for the tools these ships use.
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
- Candidates residing in the Netherlands are strongly preferred.

Extra information
- Your team: As a CAD engineer, you will be part of the Fleet Development Department (FDD), which is part of the Central Fleet Support division. This department provides technical support to the three Boskalis divisions (Dredging & Inland Infra, Offshore Energy, and Salvage).
- Where you will work: You will be working on the campus in Papendrecht.
- Full/part-time job: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
