Your Responsibilities as a Project Engineer (DTED-Design, Tender & Engineering Department) are:
- Independently drafting specifications and procedures for the realization of tenders and projects within the set framework and customer and contract requirements to achieve an optimal project result.
- Independently designing and developing (new) technical solutions that meet all requirements. Offering alternative solutions to the customer and minimizing risks.
- Convincing external customers/inspectors of the feasibility and safety of the proposed solution/method and the resulting specifications.
- Responsible for determining the scope of engineering work for tenders or projects, including personnel, planning, and budgeting. Supervising and assessing the work of colleagues, subcontractors, and customers to ensure that tenders, projects, and designs are carried out in accordance with the requirements.
- Responsible for progress reporting regarding projects and/or tenders to internal and external customers. Timely identification of deviations in time, demand for engineering capacity, quality, or costs, compared to planning, requirements, and budget.
- Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projects, sometimes on location. Providing logistical support.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures, and evaluating the engineering process. Responsible for identifying acquired knowledge and experience and ensuring the implementation and execution of follow-up actions. Managing small engineering teams, coaching team members in their work, and contributing to the development and assessments of project team members.
Your qualities:
You can make your mark as a Project Engineer (DTED) if you have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, preferable hydraulic engineering section.
- Flexibility to travel and work overseas and have a strong affinity with marine engineering and problem-solving.
- Relevant (marine) work experience, including experience with relevant working methods, techniques, and professional software and models, is a pro.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
- Advanced knowledge of ICT, MS Office, and planning applications, with basic knowledge of drawing applications.
