How you can make your mark

Are you ready to make your mark as HR Manager for our marine crew in the Fleet Management department within the Boskalis Offshore Energy division?

As HR Manager, you play a key role in strengthening our organization by embedding the Human Excellence pillars Performance & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Mobility and Vitality into everyday practice. You work closely with colleagues in Crewing and Fleet Management and support a diverse, international crew operating on our vessels worldwide.

You are responsible for the execution and monitoring of HR policies within the Crew department and are continuously challenged to further improve and future‑proof these policies. Thriving in an international and dynamic environment, you are result‑driven, proactive and take ownership by initiating and organizing improvements based on your expertise and experience.

Further developing and optimizing the organization and its processes is high on our agenda. In this role, you actively contribute to and lead HR projects that support these ambitions. As a driven and independent HR professional, you coach management and employees, act as a trusted advisor on a broad range of HR topics and ensure the department is optimally supported from an HR perspective.

You can build bridges and translate strategy into practical implementation, with a clear focus on delivering tangible results.

Your responsibilities as HR Manager:

  • As HR Manager, you act as a trusted advisor, sparring partner and coach for the Crewing department and our vessels. You are a true business partner who confidently balances strategic HR topics with hands‑on operational matters as they arise.
  • You play an active role in a wide range of HR projects aligned with the Human Excellence pillars, helping to build a strong and future‑proof HR foundation for the marine crew within Offshore Energy Fleet Management. This includes initiatives such as optimizing performance management processes and contributing to projects related to our diverse and international employment packages.
  • You guide and support managers and the Crewing department in the further implementation and embedding of key HR processes, with a strong focus on development, talent review, succession planning and continuous improvement. You support personal development and ownership amongst the crew, helping people grow in their role and broaden their skills, close to daily practice. In addition, you follow up on appraisal cycles and actively coach crew members throughout their career journey within Boskalis.
  • You work in a structured and plan-based way, keep overview and follow-up, and stay closely connected to daily practice to understand what happens amongst our marine crew You translate these insights into clear analyses and concrete improvement plans.
  • You naturally live our Offshore Energy HR values: cooperation, integrity and pro‑activeness. You are solution‑oriented, dare to challenge the status quo and enjoy exploring new approaches together with the Offshore Energy Crewing HR team. When solutions do not yet exist, you take the initiative to develop them yourself. You are comfortable pioneering within an existing framework, think creatively and are willing to step outside the box.
  • Finally, you are able and eager to visit our vessels and connect directly with one of our most valuable assets: our marine crew.

Your qualities and experience
You can move ahead as an HR Manager if you have:     

  • At least 10 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in an international organization with a hands-on culture.
  • Proven track record in successfully running HR projects.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration or similar.
  • Strong communication skills in English, Dutch can be a plus.
  • Excellent social skills, including persuasiveness and influence, taking initiative, staying persistent when things get complex and able to focus on finding workable solutions rather than obstacles and the ability to build good relationships.

Extra information

  • Your team: You will be part of the Fleet management team in Boskalis Offshore Energy, based in Papendrecht. You will travel to the Vessels. You will report to the Manager of Crewing HR.
  • Full/part-time job: The position is a full-time (40 hours a week) job. However, part -time (32 hours a week) is also a possibility.
  • Where you will work: For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office. You will travel to vessels on occasion.
