The Fleet Traineeship is a unique year-long development program designed to train you into a Technical Superintendent or Project Engineer within Fleet management of one of our divisions.
If you’re driven, eager to learn, and not afraid to take ownership, this is where your career takes off.
From your very first day, you’ll join one of our departments and work side‑by‑side with an experienced Technical Superintendent or Project Engineer. You learn by doing!
Your traineeship includes:
This combination ensures you develop not only strong technical expertise but also the personal and professional skills you need to grow and succeed.
“As a project engineer, I make my mark in preparing and executing cablelaying projects. Together with my team, I work out plans and we discuss if and how a certain solution is going to work at sea. The next step is to write the necessary procedures to execute the project on site.
I’m currently preparing for a cable-laying scope for the impressive Liverpool Bay project. Our client is building a new platform to repurpose depleted gasfields so that CO2 captured onshore can be injected and stored in the empty fields. These so-called ‘carbon capture and storage projects (CCS)’ are going to play an increasingly important role in tackling climate change."
Our Fleet Traineeship offers one unified program with three specialized tracks. Depending on your study background and interests, you can choose the track that fits you best. Each track gives you hands on experience, technical development, and the chance to work on large scale international projects.
In the Offshore Energy track, you will take part in projects involving offshore wind, cable and pipeline installation, and maritime construction.
You will work on:
This track is perfect for you if you have a BSc or MSc degree in mechanical-, marine-, or electrical engineering and want to combine your technical skills with the energy transition. No prior work experience is required.
In the Dredging track, you will contribute to the management of our dredging fleet, including cutters, hoppers, and support equipment.
You will be involved in:
This track is ideal for you if you have a second vocational (MBO) or Associate Degree in mechanical-, marine-, or electrical engineering combined with several years of hands-on technical experience (maritime or non-maritime) and you are looking for a role that combines engineering, innovation, and international dredging projects.
In the Global Fleet Track, you work on the central technical management of our global fleet. This ranges from improving vessel performance to major vessel conversions or even new build projects.
You will be involved in:
This track is a great fit for you if you are analytically strong, hold a BSc or MSc degree in Naval Architecture or Electrical & Instrumentation and enjoy working systematically while building broad technical expertise.
