How you can make your mark

Make your mark as a Project Planner at the Global Engineering Department of Boskalis Offshore Energy. Our department spearheads a wide range of projects, including renewable energy installations and complex marine infrastructure developments. With a diverse array of in- and external stakeholders such as environmental agencies, local governments, and international partners, your role will be foundational to the success of our projects. The Global Engineering department is at the forefront of innovation and excellence, ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of sustainability and efficiency.

The Project Planner role is developing as Boskalis continues to invest in digitalization and smarter ways of working. Beyond traditional planning and scheduling, the role increasingly leverages technologies such as simulation and optimization to support better decision-making in tenders and projects.

Working within our in-house developed software, planners explore scenarios, optimize schedules, and deliver data-driven insights that add real value to project outcomes. As part of this development, planners are expected to contribute to more advanced analysis and automation. Basic knowledge of Python, or the drive to pick it up, is seen as a clear plus within the team. It allows you to gradually step into simulation, optimization, and more data-driven ways of planning, and to actively support better project and tender outcomes.

Your responsibilities as Project Planner

  • Assist in the set-up and management of the overall scheduling process within a tender or project, in line with stakeholder requirements.
  • Support the development and management of multidisciplinary schedules during the lifecycle of the project.
  • Provide planning-related information and support to senior team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by learning from industry developments.
  • Assist in identifying interfaces, opportunities, and potential risks within the project.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient use of resources and timely project delivery.
  • Contribute to simulation‑ and optimization‑based planning activities as these become further embedded in the organization.

Your qualities

  • A Higher Professional Education (mbo4, hbo or wo) degree with minimal 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Primavera and planning theory.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Eager to learn project management and risk management concepts.
  • Interest in digitalization and data‑driven planning approaches.

Basic knowledge of Python, or a strong willingness to learn, applied or applicable to data analysis, automation, or analytical problem‑solving within a project planning context.

The following competencies are also important for the role of function:

  • Strong analytical skills and willingness to develop further.
  • A flexible attitude and ability to handle last-minute information and adjustments.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
