How you can make your mark

Make your mark as a PMO Officer at Boskalis!

As a PMO Officer, you play a central role in driving the successful delivery of our IT project portfolio. You bring structure, insight, and control to a dynamic environment where multiple projects run simultaneously. Working closely with the PPO Manager, Portfolio Manager, and a team of 14 Project Managers, you ensure that projects stay on track in terms of progress, budget, and quality.

You are the one who connects the dots: you run project reviews, challenge where needed, and make sure reporting is accurate and consistent. By identifying risks and deviations early, you enable better decision-making and help keep the portfolio aligned with strategic objectives. At the same time, you support and guide Project Managers in maintaining high standards, contributing to a professional and continuously improving project organization.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the PPO Manager and Portfolio Manager in portfolio governance and control.
  • Conducting monthly project reviews on progress, planning, budget, and risks.
  • Ensuring consistent application of project management standards, processes, and reporting.
  • Coaching Project Managers on project hygiene and compliance with agreed frameworks.
  • Collecting, consolidating, and analysing project data for portfolio-level insights.
  • Identifying and escalating deviations across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risks.
  • Providing administrative and financial support (e.g. purchase orders, timesheets, and SharePoint document management).

Your qualities

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, IT, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Around 2–5 years of experience in a PMO, project support, or coordination role, ideally in an IT or corporate environment.
  • A strong affinity with data, progress tracking, and financial project insights—you know how to translate numbers into meaningful actions.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Prince2, Agile, or hybrid ways of working.
  • A structured and analytical mindset, combined with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
  • Confident communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels; English at B1 level or higher.
  • Proactive and self-driven, comfortable operating in a dynamic multi-project environment, with solid skills in MS Office and SharePoint.
