About the program

Lots of impact on megatrends and lots of growth opportunities. That’s what the Boskalis Traineeship is all about. The Traineeship lasts a total of 18 months during which you will complete three different challenging international or national assignments, tailored to your study and background. It goes without saying that international assignments can be everywhere in the world! Before, in between and after the assignments there's a lot of room to work on your personal development as you will work with top notch coaches and mentors during a challenging development program.

Two tracks

The Boskalis Traineeship is a unique opportunity to gain experience within an organization that encourages you to rise to the challenge and make your mark on complex infrastructural and marine projects. We offer four tracks:

1.  International track - closed for applications
2.  National track - closed for applications
3. Finance track - closed for applications

4. Fleet management track - closed for applications

Both the international and national track have their own specializations - during the application process for the international track, you can indicate your preference. For the national track, there is one specialization.

International track - 3 specializations

As an Offshore Energy trainee, you are directly involved in the world-wide energy transition. Boskalis offers a unique range of offshore services to the international energy sector - oil, gas and renewables. If you work on an Offshore Energy project, you will be located at one of our offices (Papendrecht or Aberdeen) and may spend longer consecutive periods abroad.

Boskalis Dredging

We are a global market leader in dredging, our activities include the construction and maintenance of ports and waterways, coastal defense and riverbank protection, and land reclamation. As a Dredging trainee you will work in a fast-paced and international environment. If you work on a dredging project, you will work on a location for six weeks at a stretch after which you will have four weeks of leave. Needless to say, that these locations can be anywhere in the world.

Boskalis DTED

DTED stands for Design, Tender, Engineering Department and is a true Boskalis thinktank: all knowledge and expertise for tenders and project support comes together in this dredging department. As a DTED trainee, there's no better place to learn a lot about all our activities and learn from our experts.

National track – 1 specialization

Inland Infra

As a trainee for Boskalis Nederland, the projects you work on change the Dutch landscape, make The Netherlands better accessible and/or safer and create a better living environment. Together with the client and your colleagues you will realize multidisciplinary, infrastructural projects on land or water. For example, during a project where we specialize in the design and realization of complex solutions for coastal defense or co-build the fully CO2 negative road N470.

  • Internal- and external training sessions to give you and your fellow Trainees more information to be able to discover what motivates you and to specify your development goals.
