About the traineeship program
Lots of impact on megatrends and lots of growth opportunities. That’s what the Boskalis Traineeship is all about. During 12 months, you will complete two different challenging (inter)national assignments, tailored to your education and background. It goes without saying that international assignments can take place anywhere in the world. Before, in between and after the assignments, there's a lot of room to work on your personal development, as you will work with top notch coaches and mentors during a challenging development program.
Boskalis offers many different traineeship opportunities. Next to our operations traineeships in Dredging, Offshore Energy, DTED and Boskalis Nederland, we offer a Finance traineeship. You can read more about the different tracks on this page.
We currently have no traineeship vacancies open. There will be new traineeship vacancies in the beginning of 2025.
For both the Operations Traineeship and the Finance Traineeship, you can choose between a national and an international track. The international track offers different specializations. You can indicate your preference during your application. Within the Operations Traineeship you can choose Offshore Energy, Dredging or DTED. And within the Finance Traineeship you can choose Offshore Energy or Dredging. For both national tracks there is one specialization (Boskalis Nederland).
As an international finance trainee you will be part of the project team for a Dredging or Offshore Energy project team, and this often means working in challenging conditions. The projects you work on will vary in size, complexity, and duration and your workplace will depend on the project itself. For example: as a finance trainee your first assignment might be working for one of our unique, offshore energy projects from our Papendrecht office. Your next assignment could be for the development of Manilla International Airport – one of our biggest projects ever – location in the Philippines.
If you opt for the national track of the Finance Traineeship, you will work on complex, leading projects on land and water in the Netherlands and Belgium. Think of projects such as the Meanderende Maas, an extensive dike reinforcement project or the construction of new nature reserves such as the Markerwadden.
“I didn’t want to have a nine-to-five job like my friends from college, sitting all day in a suit and tie, surrounded by other financial folk. I preferred to get outside the office, go abroad, and be part of a diverse team,” says Nawjeen. “The Boskalis Traineeship was a great experience. My first project was on a major construction site in Asia, working with people from 20-30 nationalities and different professions – engineers, purchasers, surveyors and so on. I got to know the whole company. It gave me a great foundation.”
