How you can make your mark

Make your mark as a risk engineer for our Offshore Energy, Global Engineering department! As a risk engineer you are the key player in further developing Boskalis position within the Offshore Energy market. You improve the tender process and with that the offers Boskalis submits, by making sure all the important risks and opportunities are considered. By actively challenging the stakeholders you make a constructive and valued contribution to the tender phase. All in order to achieve a smooth project execution with a spot-on risk budget.  You are process-minded, able to adapt to different situations, different personalities and work well in a high-pressure environment. You are curious, decisive and dare to mention what most people dislike hearing: possible risks or problems. As a risk engineer you have the possibility to visit projects and vessels around the globe.

Your responsibilities as risk engineer

  • You identify, prioritize and address potential opportunities and risks, both in the tender and project execution phase. To do this you conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses (through Monte Carlo simulations).
  • You make sure risk management remains high on the agenda and is spread throughout the organization. In order to do so, you facilitate risk sessions for the Tender team and follow-up until tender submission.
  • You document and keep track of the status and implementation of the necessary risk response actions and make sure lessons learned as well as best practices are logged and shared. This will make the next tender process and ultimately submitted offer, of even better quality

Your Qualities

  • At least 2 of relevant work experience as an engineer, preferably in the Offshore Energy sector;
  • A master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Logistic Management or similar;
  • Experience in Monte Carlo or logistical simulations, or Oracle Primavera Risk is seen as an advantage;
  • A good command of written and spoken English.

Extra information  

  • Your Team: You are part of the Risk Engineering team within the Offshore Energy Global Engineering division. The team consists of 5 other risk engineers. You will report to the Lead Risk and System Engineering.
  • Where you will work: You will mainly be working at our head office in Papendrecht – The Netherlands. In consultation with your manager and your team working partly from home is a possibility. Sporadically working from a vessel (abroad) is required.
  • Fulltime/ part-time job: The position of risk engineer is a fulltime (40 hours a week).
