How you can make your mark

As a crew coordinator you are part of the operations team. In this role you will play a pivotal role in a multifaceted position that is crucial for the training, development, and sustainability of our salvage team. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the salvage crew, including superintendents, supervisors, engineers and divers.

Additionally, you will act as the interface for the salvage crew between the (deputy) operation manager, HR, warehouse, and other internal organizations and training centers. You will oversee the planning process for the salvage crew, updating it on a daily basis. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date training matrix and ensuring that all crew members are prepared to deploy at a moment's notice to any salvage project.

You will demonstrate inventiveness in exploring options within the Boskalis organization to integrate the salvage crew and enhance utilization and exposure during periods of low demand for salvage operations. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, you will oversee the further implementation of the new crewing program, Onboard Tracker.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify training gaps and potential within salvage teams and keep track/manage training required for certificates or required by Smit Salvage.
  • Proper alignment with project coordinators to make sure ongoing projects are never short of salvage crew.
  • Manage work activities and presence in warehouse in close coordination with technical support manager and warehouse manager.
  • Expand network of freelance divers, engineers.
  • All crew related documentation (incl. diver certification) and Holidays planning in close coordination with (deputy)operation manager.

Your qualities
You can make your mark as crew coordinator if you have:

  • At least secondary vocational education.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
  • No problem working outside regular working hours.
  • The ability to do on-call duty service 1 week every 4 weeks.
  • Basic skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and organizational skills.
  • Perseverance, but at the same time ability to be flexible when requires.
  • Ability to maintain and actively build new relationships.
  • Knowledge of onboard tracker is a pre.

  • Your team: You will be part of the Salvage Operations Department. In this role you will directly report to the Deputy operations manager EMEA.
  • Where you will work: Your workplace will be in the office in Papendrecht.
  • Full/part-time job: The position of crewing coordinator is a full-time job (40 hours a week).
